As a social worker, I highly value the author's forethought in creating a tool for adults to use to help them prepare for golden age care and caregiving.
I think that this book is very helpful. If you have no idea on what to do it gives clear instructions. True that no one wants to talk about the subject of death but it is needed. It's nothing to be afraid of. We do plan for everything else but sometimes we have a tendency to think that we have plenty of time. It may be true but it's helpful just to get started. I have begun the process of preparing but I'm not quite finished. Again it is a conversation to have. This is my wife talking.
I suggest getting this manual, sitting down with your spouse and/or other family members and do the excercises it outlines. This invaluable resource will help you figure out all sorts of important life/estate/retirement issues, as the author says, before the stress begins and your family is facing a crisis and needs to know things like location of important documents, advanced directives, etc. So many people put this off, as I did, and then when my parents both needed nursing home/assisted living my siblings and I did not know where to start. I don't want to put my own child through this, so I bought this product and worked through it with my husband and I feel a great sense of relief. Very clear, straightforward, and comprehensive.
